DetectGPT is a small free checker for people who need a look at a draft before someone else pastes it into a school tool, a client dashboard, or a comment thread. The name is the brand. The job is any language-model prose: ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini, and the rest.

We built the homepage around a report you can actually read. Paste up to 3,000 words, or drop in a public URL, and you get a percentage plus lines marked yellow, orange, or red. No account. No school login.

The checker is a style signal, not a courtroom. Careful human writing can look even. Heavily edited model writing can look mixed. If a grade or a contract hangs on the result, run more than one tool and keep your drafts.
